A couple of years ago, on a vacation to Maine, I found a vintage quilt for a doll bed at a roadside antique shop. It had some stains, but such fun colors and a random pattern. When I finally got the nerve to take it apart, I discovered that the batting was scraps of clothing that were randomly stitched together. I imagined a grandmother handing over her scrap bag and sewing machine to a young learner for practice.
This sweetheart is hand stitched cotton cotton and stuffed with recycled denim. She is 13” from ears to toes.
