Jeanne Villipreux Power was a French marine biologist born in 1794. She is credited with inventing the aquarium, which she then used to study marine life. Known as the “Mother of Aquariophily,” she was also an accomplished dressmaker, author and conservationist. She was first famous for creating the wedding dress for Princess Caroline.
Jeanne is currently on display at the Children’s Theater of Cincinnati. She will be available for shipping at the end of October, 2023.
Jeanne is approximately ten inches tall. Her top is fashioned from an antique linen doily with a hand stitched floral design.
