William Rush Dunton was the founder and first president of the American Occupational Therapy Association, and a scholar of American quilts. As part of occupational therapy, he encouraged many of his patients to try quilting. This led to a personal interest, and he began collecting album quilts. He organized exhibits at the Baltimore Museum of Art and authored the book “Old Quilts.“ He was inducted into the Quilters Hall of Fame in 1979.

Dunton is approximately 8” tall. He is constructed of recycled wool and denim and wears a silk bow tie.
