Ruth

Ruth Gates dedicated her research and career to the study of coral reef eco-systems and their ability to acclimate to climate changes. She determined a relationship between the use of certain sunscreens and the bleaching of corals. Her work led the Hawaiian government to ban use of these products.

Ruth is constructed of recycled wool and stuffed with recycled denim. She wears a vintage handkerchief top.
