Hand stitched figures created from recycled cashmere and stuffed a combination of recycled denim and beads for weight. Mary’s dress is fashioned from a pair of cotton pants and a discarded blouse. Hand stitched design emulates the traditional Palestinian Tatreez handwork. Joseph’s robe was taken from the back of an antique quilt that was beyond repair.
This was an experiment commissioned by a collector and is one of a kind.
