Rhodopis

Rhodopis, the story of a Greek slave girl who marries the king of Egypt, is thought to be the earliest version of the Cinderella Story.  It was first recorded late in the first century BC.  The story goes that an eagle swooped down and took her sandal, flew to Memphis, and dropped the sandal in the king’s lap.  Intrigued by the beautiful shoe, he sent his men to locate the owner and bring her to be his wife. 

Rhodopis is constructed of recycled wool and dressed in upcycled table linens.  She stands approximately 13” tall.
