Theodosia Burr Shepherd was a botanist and horticulturalist known as the “Flowet Wizard of California.“ She was the first woman in California (and possibly the US) to hybridize flowers. Her seed and bulb company laid the groundwork for California’s seed industry. In addition to new varieties of cosmos and begonias, she famously developed the “Heavenly Blue” morning, glory and the “Golden West“ California Poppy.
Theodosia is constructed of recycled wool and stuffed with recycled denim. She is dressed in a vintage handkerchief and stands approximately 13 inches tall.
